"Thunderheart!" is the main level of this new chalet located on a private
3/4 acre forested lot! From its soaring 24' high Great Room windows you
enjoy the south facing view of towering pine trees, West Dam Lake,
and the Rocky Knolls Golf Course! Outside the kitchen windows are huge
rock formations, which the Custer area is famous for! Enjoy BBQ
meals on your private, wrap around deck. The huge front yard is a great
place for a picnic or a Frisbee toss! Walk across the street (after looking
both ways) & fish the lake or golf Rocky Knolls. French Creek is across the road.

Located just outside the western city limits of Custer, SD on the north side of
Hwy 16. The chalet sits far back from the road and is between huge rock formations.
Entrance to the public golf course is directly across the road.

This newer chalet is of premium construction. It's very well equipped for your
vacation enjoyment - all you need to bring is personal items & food.
The modern equipped kitchen is a gourmet delight with dishwasher,
smooth top electric range, side by side refrigerator, microwave.
32" TV/VCR/DVD & propane fireplace in the Great Room for your enjoyment
during those delightful Autumn & Winter evenings! Complimentary VHS and DVDs
(select from over 100!) To enter the Master suite in the loft area, you pass through double
French doors, to a huge bedroom with soaring ceilings, king bed, walk in
closet, and private bath. On the main level, there are two separate bedrooms with
queen beds, and another full bath.

The main and top level of "Thunderheart!" can be rented as a 3 bedroom/2
bath, or it can be combined with the lower ground floor level unit,
making it a huge premium grade rental for your Family capable of sleeping 12!
The entire house would offer 1 king, 3 queens, 2 twins (combine for 1 king), and
1 queen sofa sleeper. House has a total of 3 full bathrooms, one on each level.
Rental of the whole house would include washer/dryer facilities.

This home has premium construction and furnishings. As with all of our properties,
we prefer to rent to responsible adults who would care for and appreciate this home.
Children are welcome only if they are well behaved and under constant adult
supervision.

No wood burning or fires of any kind (except our gas grill or charcoal grill) are
allowed. No rock collecting or rock climbing is allowed.
If you have a question whether a certain activity is allowed, please call and ask before you proceed.

Sorry, no pets allowed.

WEATHER: Warm summer days and cool summer evenings are the norm for
Custer area and the Black Hills in general. Custer is 5318 feet above sea level
and actually has a higher elevation than the "Mile High City" of Denver, CO!
It is very rare to see hot summer days at this location and elevation. Regardless
of the daytime temperature, plan on a very noticeable drop in temperature when
the sun sets. This evening temperature drop applies to ALL seasons.
As most houses in the Hills, THUNDERHEART! does not have air conditioning.

You will enjoy becoming part of the neighborhood and staying at one of the most
outstanding homes in the Southern Black Hills!
